CEO Mitchell Harris has taken a leadership role in the Lubbock based American Museum of Agriculture, as a recently elected board member, and founding supporter. Additionally, all eight AgTexas directors, as well as the leadership team, are members of the Museum. The mission of AMA is to preserve the history of, tell the story of, and instill pride in American Agriculture.
Mitchell concludes, "It is amazing the breath of the membership and the interest this organization has created. Recent visitors have ranged from Nebraska, Wisconsin to Victoria, Texas and in between. The educational opportunities for youth and the public are tremendous with this project."
The museum is currently located on temporary facilities on Canyon Lake Drive in Lubbock. A contract for $1.8 million has been approved for Phase I of the new facility on property adjacent to the temporary site. Visit the web page for more information: http://www.agriculturehistory.org/about.php
